In cruising the various news sources and forums this morning, I ran across the link to the following article:

Not sure if I am correct in assuming that the referenced "Secretary of Tourism" is a Federal Official but if so, it seems odd to me that they are offering this service along highway 15. Sure there are lots of "snowbirds" traveling this route to Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta but I would think that the routes from Texas would be of greater concern due to the number of incidents in various areas. On the other hand, they are basically dealing with only one highway if this is a test program.

Reading the comments in the linked article, it seems no one has been able to get any meaningful response to the "offer".

I have my doubts as to the practicality of the whole concept.

An oversight on my part - in the original article, one of the responders did track down the correct contact info which was misprinted in the article. Practicality and implementation are as Paul Harvey would often say: "the rest of the story".

And I thought I saw where you announced that you were "adios".

What? Couldn't you come up with an Alabama or banker story to add flavor to a story that I did not write nor did you see me saying anywhere that I thought it was workable or even had a chance of implementation?
