I stayed in one on the "Carretera A Matehuala" which is east of Saltillo and west of Artega. I'm sorry but I do not remember the name. It is on the south side of that wide-open area of the carretera and closer to Artega than downtown Saltillo. It is very prominent and hard to miss. Easy to get to off of the Highway 57 'bypass'.

Excellent! Just the kind of info I needed.... do you remember the color? The vivid pink one outside Chapala is memorable.....

I don't recall it being brightly colored.... pink or otherwise. It is kinda out by itself and somewhat back off the carretera on the south side. Once you are in that area you will not 'miss' it. At first (from the carretera) it was not obvious that it was a Notell but once you drive up the driveway it becomes obvious.

Some time back, I bookmarked the site for the following hotel in case we went through Saltillo:

Have no idea what their pooch policy is but it might be worth a contact/inquiry?
