Where to buy chemicals?

Can't Post | Private Reply
I live in Guadalajara and recently wanted to buy some boric acid to fight roaches. I couldn't find it in any of the pharmacies, but one pharmacist told me to try a "boutique." I then got my son to bring some borax from the States. I now also want to buy saltpeter to make corned beef, but struck out in the pharmacies again. Does anyone know what a "boutique" could be and where to find one?

They tried sending you to a "botica" which is an old fashioned pharmacy i.e. apothecary shop..

There are a number in the Santa Tere neighborhood along with chemical supply house and tlapelerias.

You can buy "sal nitro" at Mama Coneja either on Manuel Acuna in Santa Tere or the Mercado de Abastos. Or the Gallina Feliz at Abastos also.
