Did anyone attend the US Consulate Town Hall meeting? If so can you please fill us all in on what was discussed.

I didn't attend but spoke with some who did. They started out with the first few presentations in Spanish mainly for those who worked some years in the US and are eligible to draw Social Security payments. Finally they did some parts in English for the ex-pat crowd but everyone said attending was pretty much a waste of time and that they could get the same information online.

There was question and answer time but that was all pretty routine as well. The only thing useful to me was them mentioning that the Embassy has representatives that travel through at times and if you need the services of the Embassy for passport, retirement benefits, or emergencies to call their number and they have been known to make special trips into an are for certain services or could let you know when they would be in your area for routine business and you could maybe save yourself a trip to the Embassy or Consulate locations.

Hopefully someone that attended will be able to post more about this meeting.
