latest news from ZLO?

Can anyone give me an update on what's going on in and around ZLO in regards to the drug war? We keep hearing bad things but I never want to believe third hand info. I've searched everywhere for news articles etc... but have found nothing of great interest, maybe there is a good up to date news paper online but I have yet to find it. We want to do renos on our place in Las Brisas this yr but are now re-thinking it.

We are currently staying in Las Brisas, Manzanillo. We gather from locals that the police are being hit hard by assassinations but there is no feeling of fear in the air.
