Well I guess after all of the "techie" conversations, issues have been resolved and a new format is out there:

New site is extremely disappointing. I'm so used to all the factual info on the old site. I used to check it a couple times a day. It will surely be missed.

Very sad news. Steve's weather station will be missed. I hope he's just playing with us.

Well, new concept Monday has come and gone and we're into a day without color in MX, but GoDaddy reported the following for yesterday:

Most active day September 20, 2010 : 16,520 pages sent. 186,221 requests handled.
Daily average: 4,686 pages sent. 131,892 requests handled.

So, if you want to believe the numbers, it was a raging success - I'm a bit puzzled?

Yeah, but the software or something is killing me, it's not showing the recorded values for rain, and here and now, what else is there, even worse, here's what GoDaddy reported yesterday?

Most active day September 21, 2010 : 35,252 pages sent. 404,895 requests handled.
Daily average: 5,417 pages sent. 138,400 requests handled.
Apparently someone has linked and it picking up huge hits. (well, huge for us)

Ok, nearly noon and my day hasn't started, so, looks like most is back online, so I'm headed for the local watering hole - I've earned it this day.

I've always accepted the fact I was far from replaceable - so, please Lord, send my replacement real soon if you could.

Steve, I am among those who really do appreciate & like your Chapala weather site -- it's so much more accurate than searching for Guad Airport weather any day and you've got so many nifty tidbits of info there.

My web creation choice is a wonderful free WYSIWYG editor called Kompozer (a sort of updated NVU & better than, too) and it's open source software, being continually developed & improved. It has built-in uploading like FP but isn't as quirky & cranky as FP... plus some CSS capabilities, etc. You might really enjoy using it... and it's easy to download & install.

You might consider monetizing the site with Google Adsense - it's easy to set up and free to use and it makes you a few cents every time someone clicks out. I use it on several of my sites and don't make any bragging money but money is money. :)

Best of luck with your decisions regarding your cool weather website... me being a webmaster, I fully understand many of the frustrations although I've never owned one so technical in content to have to deal with.

Best regards,
Donna

It is a consolation to see that Steve's weather station is not the only one that has technical glitches and issues. On Monday, when Los Angeles reached 113 degrees, the official weather station quit working and while 113 was a new all time high but it may have been hotter.
