Occam's Razor seems to apply here: the simplest explanation may be that the author hasn't seen that much concrete construction in the US or Canada, particularly structural concrete (vs. flat-work), which is ok, since few people have mixed structural concrete. if you want to learn about concrete, check out some of the web references provided above.

Self-healing properties are particularly curious if you haven't followed the advances.

Proving once again that, border promotions aka embellished resumes can come back and bite one you know where. Would doubt highly if HGTV from Canada offers credits for continuing education.

I think John made his position clear: If he hasn't seen it in person or on TV, it doesn't exist.
Even in the face of documented evidence to the contrary.
I fear there are many people with that myopic view.

Do you know exact costs of such works? I am likely to go for the same stuff in near future but am helpless to know what estimated costs will it come up with if I go for overall works.
