FM3 payment

Can't Post | Private Reply
Does anybody know if there's an online site to download the form for paying the fee (pago de derechos)? I need the form that specifies a payment of $1294 for rentistas. I live in Guadalajara. Will I have to go to the Guadalajara office to pick them up?

If INM is still using the SAT 5 form for payment of the FM-3 fee, you can buy as many as you need at any papelería.

Go here http://www.mexconnect.com/...;;page=unread#unread for a guide to renewing your FM3. It includes instructions for completing the payment form online. There are four choices under Art. 8 Fracc II -- A, B, C and D. Some of the wording is cut off, but if you're renewing a "rentista: FM3 choose B. Para dedicarse a actividades no lucrativas, por cada prórroga $1,294.00 pesos. A. is for a new FM3; C. is for a new working FM3 ($2,102.00 pesos); and D. is for renewal of a working FM3.

If you need help, PM me. Good luck -- G

Thank you Demonio and Esperanza - I already read your excellent guide to applying online, Demonio. It was a tremendous help. As far as online payments, I don't think they'll accept my German credit card and I don't have a Mexican bank account. I went to a papeleria per Esperanza's advice. They didn't have it, but they downloaded from the Internet. So I'm all set. It's not the standard SAT form but Hoja ayuda para el pago en ventanilla bancaria.

In our area (BCS), the SAT 5 forms haven't been used for the past 2-3 years. The year of the change, I went to what seemed like every papeleria in town before finding them, only to discover that INM had switched to using the new bank form. Aaaaay!!

kmetzer, with the info provided, you won't be paying online - only completing the form that you'll take to the bank and pay with cash, credit card, or whatever. if you get the form at a papeleria, inm or where ever, you still have to go to the bank and pay. completing the form online just saves you time and you're sure it'll be accepted by inm in gdl. don't forget to make a copy of the original receipt cuz they'll want one.

Booby traps

I just got back from Migracion in Guadalajara with a few more tasks to take care of. I foolishly assumed the procedures had been simplified, but in reality, they have added a few twists to the process that could well send people with busy working schedules running around with more work to do for Migracion.

1. The new payment form asks you to provide your surname, your mother's name and your first and middle names. But don't do that. The name on the receipt of payment has to match the name in your passport and US passports don't include your mother's name. Now I have to go back to the bank and redo the payment.

2. In my case - retiree with dependent wife applying for extensions of our FM3s - in addition to the letter declaring that you are providing financial support for your dependent (carta de apoyo), you also have to write a letter saying your activity has not changed.

Yo, Sr. so and so, manifiesto baco de protesta de decir verdad que continuo con la misma actividad con la cual me fue autorisado mi FM3 continuando como rentista.Solicito la prorroga de mi documento.

and the dependent has to sign a letter reading as follows:

Yo, Sra. so and so, manifiesto baco de protesta de decir verdad que continuo con la misma actividad con la cual me fue autorisado mi FM3 continuando como dependiente economico de mi esposo.
Solicito la prorroga de mi documento.

I also made the mistake of creating two registrations instead of one when I filled out the online form. I don't know how it happened, but that caused a wait of one hour to get it straightened out.

And I just got back from the bank. I had to pay the fee a second time because they weren't able to just make the change. So Migracion's own payment form asks you to enter your apellido materno, but if you follow their instructions, you're in for trouble.

That online form for printing a paymet form to take to the bank has caused money loses for others. I removed the form from my website because of its problems. I suggest you don't try to use it. Get a for sure accurate form from the INM office when you file your papers. A second trip to the office is better than losing your money to the bank which is not going to refund your money just because you used the wrong form.

Remember: Bank is the alternate spelling of bandit.

Also I think the word baco in the statement "...manifiesto baco de protesta..." should be bajo.

Actually, all you have to do is follow the simple directions and you'll be fine. My friend and I were in and out of GDL INM in less than ten minutes with new FM3s. If you're not sure - ASK. I'd be happy to charge you $500 pesos, or more, to walk you through it, but it's not necessary and fortunately, I don't need your money.

I've run into a new problem dealing with the letter I'm supposed to submit declaring that my activity has not changed since last year. I'm still a retiree, rentista, but the migracion office told me yesterday that the wording in the letter I submitted a month ago is incorrect. They gave me the instructions in writing, but I'm not sure if I got it right. Could someone take a look at my draft letter and tell me if it makes sense in Spanish or if I've garbled it?

Original letter:

manifiesto . . ." "me fue concedida . . ."

I submitted my revised my statement on current activity last week (thanks, La Isla), and now I'm informed online that I need to come back to the office. But can someone tell me what the second notification means?

1. 22 Jul 2011 Presentarse en una oficina del INM

2. 22 Jul 2011 Se permite el pre registro en línea de su información

Revised letter:

Another booby trap

Can't Post | Private Reply
Another year has gone by since I last went through the FM3 process, and I just stepped into another booby trap. After waiting in line at the bank with my "Hoja de ayuda para pago en ventilla bancaria" for 45 minutes to pay my fees, I was informed that I'd have to go home and start again. In entered $1451.06 on the form because that was what the government said I owed. Wrong! You have to enter $1451 - not the centavos.

Same thing happened to me when I applied for a duplicate for my lost immigrado card...No cents ae accepted although the fee has centavos. You would think they would not quote a price with centavos if they do not want any....
