FM3 Questions

My husband and I are thinking about retiring in Mexico. We currently live and work in Canada.
Since my husband was born in Mexico and has a Mexican birth certificate does he still need to apply for an FM-3?
I have tried finding this information through the internet but however can't seem to find any information regarding this.

A visa for you is necessary. For your husband the Mexican birth certificate probably makes him a Mexican citizen. I noticed a number of people at INM (immigrations) who were "returning" to Mexico. They may have had to do that for their children born outside of Mexico, who have a right to be citizens, but it also seems there is some sort of reintegrations processes going on. INM will tell you what may be necessary for your husband - you have to go there anyway.

The short answer is "No".
As a Mexican he can live in Mexico whenever he likes (and work, if he so desires and registers with the tax authorities).

Your husband is a Mexican citizen, so he does not need an FM3. It would be helpful if he had a passport. He should go to the nearest Mexican Consulate to check into that.
