Road from Manzanillo up to Nayarit

We know about the problems from Nayarit south through PV, but does anybody know of any problemas up towards PV from the south? If anybody has driven it in the past month, are there any "real" military checkpoints? Or is it just a nice 4 hour cruise on up to Puerto Vallarta?

Never heard of any problems on the road south and the one reported between here and Tepic appears to be an isolated incident.

There's now a mile long construction site just south of La Penita, big traffic delay in both directions. Lokks like a few months' worth of work anyway.
