What does Rentista mean?

Hello all,

I can't believe that some of us posters here don''t know what Rentista means.

Yet on one of the other forums that Rentista has been translated as "Temporary Renter".

Not so!

A rentista is a person living on an annual income from investments of one type or another. So here is a definition of "renta"or "rentas".
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
RAE Diccionario.

renta

Here is a translation into English of number 1:
Property or benefit which pays annualy something, or from which something is received.

And here number 3:
Income, benefit, augmentation of the richness of a person.

So, as said earlier a Rentista is a person who receives some kind of annual income which is NOT received from work.

Hasta luego, jerezano.
