Has anyone brought their used tools from MEX to US and back again?

My husband needs to do some work on house in LA. He wants to bring his favorite saw, drill etc. with him from our home here in Yucatan. We have an FM3. Will he have a problem with Aduena when he returns to Mex with tools?

He should talk with the Aduana at the airport a few days before leaving. He should take the power tools with him so they can copy serial numbers if they want to. Are they on your menaje de casa? If so, he might want to take a copy of that too. I did that when I took my printers to Dallas for repairs. No problems.
