$218 US roundtrip from Guadalajara to San Francisco including taxes/fees? Is that even possible?

I wonder if tax and other and other fees are included. Usually when I have bought tickets on Mexicana website taxes and some fees are extra, almost doubling the price.

The list of prices says that taxes and fees are included. I can't find a way to get into the promotional page, though. The link in the OP doesn't go anywhere but to the list of prices...help, please?

EDITED TO ADD: OK, I did finally manage to find the promotion. You have to read the fine print. There are MANY excluded dates for travel from Mexico to the USA, Canada, and Latin America. Here's the list of exclusions--in Spanish, but you will understand the dates even if you do not read Spanish.

If you go to the main Mexicana page, in the upper-right corner there's a photo touting the promotion. Just click on that. This only appears, evidently, in the Spanish version of the site, if you click on the English option, a different (Mexico Beach Destinations) promotion appears. Or at least that's what happened while I was on the site.

That said, I plugged in some dates for San Francisco in August and got frustrated with the interface. I did manage to arrive at a $2710 MXP roundtrip fare, but the routing (through MC) was awful, and it was 15 hours going one way, and maybe 8 coming back.

No thanks.

But depending on dates/destinations/willingness to endure shopping their site this weekend, might be able to find a great deal.

When I checked it out, my price as over 15,000 pesos round trip for 2 people including tax etc. Trip planned for first 2 weeks in June. I can fly to Tijuana via discount airlines, bus to San Diego and take the train north to about 12 miles from my destination for about $800 US roundtrp, without renting a car at the airport. At least I did last year.

Have you looked at the fares on http://www.volaris.com.mx? Their prices to Tijuana are usually excellent. Right now you can fly from GDL to TIJ for $268USD round trip, including all taxes. I've flown Volaris a lot and like the service, the planes, and the way they operate: on time.

Volaris has been running a great promotion for travel April 30 to May13. $99 including all tax each way GDL to SJC (San Jose Calif.)

Not sure how many seats are left but you will not be able to beat that price if you can get it !

If you understand a little Spanish, you will read that the $99 Dollar fare is plus baggage (charges) and taxes.

Too bad, but that is what it says.

The “I want to save” categories give you one bag at 55 LBS. More bags cost you more.

I did buy a ticket and it cost me the following:

GDL to SJC was $33 USD plus tax
SJC GDL was $76 USD plus tax
Total was $203.02 USD all taxes, fees, and 1 bag included round trip.

Not $99 USD each way but close enough for me. (I think maybe a currency conversion thing)

Either way, it appears to me that you received one heck of a fare! I personally have not seen fares like that since the early 2000's. We used to fly RT from Portland, OR to GDL for similar amounts on the old America West but those were back in the days when they had no luggage restrictions and we used to haul incedible amounts south for our house.

It's not a pretty good deal, it's a great deal.

Just last week we had visitors (Lake Chapala) coming from Los Angeles. A month or two ago they were researching and getting lousy, spring-breaky fares flying LAX-GDL. They were four people so I asked if they'd check Volaris, which they'd never heard of and didn't show up on their standard airfare searches.

They went to the Volaris site, they flew it, saved a bunch of money and had a fine experience.

I'm very happy that Volaris is expanding.
