Chitticawa de Guerrero

I don't know the spelling but many people in the Melaque Jalisco area call the migrant workers here Chitticawa de Guerrero. They are indigenous in dress, size, looks, etc

Any clues?

Sounded so much like Chiricawa Indians from up north

I do not sound like the name of an ethnic group in Guerrero but the name of an area or acommunity. The main ethnic groups in Guerrero are Amusgo, Mixtec, Me´phaa (spelling?) and Nahuas. The Me´Phaa are known to emigrate to the coast of Nayarit so it may be it. Do you have a picture of the women´s clothes? That could give us a clue.
May be it is spelled chiticahuac or something like that?

I can't find a similar foto but they are embroidered white blouses - not real fancy. Almost all are very small in stature

As suggested on another board in Guerrero .... I might just talk to them - if they speak Spanish
