Poor planning

I visited San Miguel de Allende yesterday--what a mess! It seems like every major street in town is being worked on--at the same time--and the road around the town is also under major construction. It took me a half hour to get out of town.

Any advice from the locals or how to get around--I like to visit, but right now it doen't seem worth the hassle.

Hope they're done by August when I'm going back, right now it sounds just like Chicago:-)) On a smaller scale of course. Is it possible to leave the car somewhere and just go without it?

Suggest you park the car and take taxis and combis.

I would be willing to bet that most all road work will be completed by Sept. 14Th, just in time for independence day fiestas...

I would think that most would be complete by next weekend in time for Semana Santa.
