Looks like we will get a swell from the Chile 8.8 magnitude quake. The local surfer will certainly be out looking for a wave later today...

Folks on the mainland west coast should also keep an eye on it. One report I saw mentioned Mazatlan and points south.

A report I saw said that it had passed Cabo San Lucas at a height of only 0.9 ft. at about 11 AM today.

We saw only a small swell in the waves around noon yesterday out here on the beach in San Quintin. Really feel for all those poor folks in Chile - I have made several trips there in years past when I lived on the other side of the Andes in Argentina.
