Once upon a time Lerdo had a tramway (streetcar) system that connected it to Gómez Palacio and Torreón. Here is the story of that tramway with lots of old pictures. There's also a bit of information about the Chinese folks that once lived in Torreón and how they were exterminated during the Revolution.

Any info on why the Revolutionists killed the 303 Chinese immigrants?

Anti-Chinese sentiment festered during the Mexican Revolution and in early 1911 the Madero forces followed the tramway line into the city

Between 13 and 15 May 1911, the Revolutionists killed 303 Chinese in Torreón, including most of the officers and employees of the CBTWY.
