Torrential rain at Lake Chapala and in Guad with no end in sight. Have only been here through a few winters but never seen anything like this, and I'm unable to find any reliable forecasts or info. Would appreciate any links that might shed light.

Only mother nature knows what happens next, but we've already exceeded the average amount that falls from Jan to June.

I guess this season is making up for last summer´s rainy season when it was dry in June, July, and most of August.

Maybe Al Gore is right.

It's Frente Frío #28--cold front #28, a stationary front that has plopped itself over most of Mexico.

Here's the weather forecast for the next week for Guadalajara:

Weather Underground is usually pretty reliable as a prognosticator.

According to the news, this has been the weirdest, coldest Mexican winter in 140 years. I wonder who was keeping track in 1870?

I've dragged my rockin' chair and lamp in next to the fire. Wearing sweatpants, undershirt, industrial strength robe from back up NOB (where it gets cold?), sheepskin slippers and have a good book. Reminds me of "home" NOB.
It's gonna be another "three dog night".

I think Mother Nature just likes to reassert her position as BOSS LADY once in a while. Okay by me.

¡Yo tambien! (Is that Spanish? Almost Spanish?) I'm loving this little rain. The miserable dry and dusty will be here soon enough, and last more than long enough.

It also gives me a jump on the leaks in the roof over the terraza before the rainy season begins. Last year there was only one leak of any magnetitude, so we had a fellow come re-adjust the tejas. Now there appear to be about ten leaks. Progress!

Okay by me.

You are not along. I have a big piiece of clear plastic over the giant plate glass skylights to stop the leaks otherwise I
have to leave a towel on the floor. Since it is only one leak I am afraid to touch it less there be ten leaks like you have.

There's nothing like a few consecutive days of rain to bring out new cracks. However it's nice not to worry much, in TX I feared wet insulation or studs in the walls, spots on the ceiling etc., here it's "don't worry, be happy", just throw down another towel.

Just to make your day, here in San Cristobal de Las Casas in the Jovel Valley at 7,000 feet the weather is splendid with crystal blue skies and temperatures expected today in the low 80s Fahrenheit. Anybody want to purchase a (soggy, damp, cold) house in Ajijic in Mexico´s midwest?

Here in the soggy midwest of lakeside, the Chili Cookoff is expected to be cancelled in favor of the Ark-building project.
This will be finalized as soon as a Mexican contractor is found who can define "a cubit".

This HAS to be doing something wonderful for the lake and the hills, no??? Has anyone taken any measurements of the undoubtedly improved lake level?

We increased the accuracy from .04" to .01" last Fall not expecting to test it until June - oops. So far the new UV sensor hasn't got much of a workout and the webcam needs a hood, but then what else is there to do but fiddle.
