Tell me, dino - why Chiapa de Corzo? That happens to be one of my favorite towns in Mexico although we do not live there but up the mountain in nearby San Cristóbal de las Casas. What puzzles me is that you would inquire of forum members as to what you should bring with you. Not many folks move to Chiapa de Corzo without having a predetermined notion of what they should bring with them. I presume you are aware that Chiapa de Corzo is adjacent to the Chiapas state capital of Tuxtla Gutierrez which is a huge metropolitan area with just about every possible shopping and entertainment opportunity that affords.

You are certainly moving to a wonderful town although the climate is attrocious which is why we don´t live there. .

i'm moving there for work. i am aware of what it's like, insofar as you can be purely through research, but i was asking for tips from people who'd actually been; i don't think that is so unusual.

i'm glad to hear that you think it's a nice town.

OK, Dino:

Your faithful correspondent has spent a great deal of time in Chiapa de Corzo which is just down the hill from San Cristóbal where I make my residence. If it were not for my French wife´s aversion to the hot and unpleasant climate there that would probably be the town I would have chosen as my home in Mexico.

Welcome to this wonderful state. I would love to meet you once you have settled in. Please don't take any response from me as confrontational. I meant to be informative but perhaps was undiplomatic as is sometimes the case.
