no tell Motels on outskirts of Morelia

We are wanting to make a short trip over to Morelia area from Lake Chapala but have two small dogs. No tell motels are a great help to us in traveling around Mexico with them. Can someone confirm that we will be able to find them outside Morelia? Any particular area?

While I have not made a close study of these motels nor been in one, I have noted their presence in a few areas. One of those areas is on the road to Pátzcuaro, just south of the intersection with Periférica del Sur (which goes on to become Av Camelinas.

There is a large, and apparently attractive Motel Monte Carlo, right off the Periférica, overlooking the Wal-Mart—Home Depot Plaza. This is a notably busy intersection, but the Motel Monte Carlo is a large complex and one might be able to escape traffic noise deep in the interior.

On the Pátzcuaro road itself, there's a fairly attractive Motel Hennessy's, not far beyond the Bimbo Warehouse (No, I'm not joking.) and on the same side of the road.

There are a couple more down the road toward Pátzcuaro, notably the less attractive Motel El Faro, marked by a prominent (ahem) lighthouse structure.

Then there's one more, next to a Pemex and a Happy Go store (again, I'm not kidding), but I forget the name. It looks average to better. Of course, you can never tell until you are in the room.

Speaking now of the Periférica Norte, west of Av Tecnología, my impression, passing by in both car and bus, is that this is a less savory area, marked by "nihgt" clubs and "gentlemen's" clubs, interpersed with conveniently located moteles.

Going north, on the divided Av Tecnología (the continuation of Av Morelos Norte), there are some better looking motels, especially on the right, headed north. I think I recall A "Veneto", but I'm not sure, and a Don Quixote, again not sure. But the nicest looking one (from the outside is "LA" or something like that. It's the landscaping, Yes, that's it. Landscaping.

I hope that you find what you're looking for, and write a detailed report for us.

I don't have any experience either, but I sympathize having traveled around Mexico with our dog, including a couple of trips to Morelia and Patzcuaro. My impressions support Anonimo's impressions.....your best bets look to be on the highway leading to Patzcuaro on the south side of Morelia. Even if you can find one on the road leading from the cuota into Morelia on the north side, and you probably can, then you're.....there.

I now recall that it's the "Motel Verona". From the outside, looks fair.

If you do stay at any of the aforementioned no tell motels don´t count on getting any sleep or try some ear plugs!

The one time I stayed in a "no-tell motel" with two dogs and a cat, the place was silent. The room was exquisite; the very large shower in a glass surround was beautiful; the king-sized bed was comfortable, and the TV was shocking. We put down puppy pads in the garage, and the litter box for the cat. It was totally private. The automatic garage door locked, so we didn't have to unpack the car and schlep stuff into the room. In fact, it was so private that I felt a little claustrophobic and had to check to make sure I could get out. We never saw or heard another soul. So, I guess each one is different.

That's pretty much the same experience we had..except I took my fur babies for a walk. The ones we've been to have been sparking clean and very private. Just wish they had a restaurant close by. We ordered "snacks" but that's not really what these places specialize in.
