What's for lunch on Christmas eve?

Tonight is the big chow-down event of the season, but what about lunch today at your house?

I made a tomato avocado salad with stuffed green olives and lime juice dressing. Then I sautéed a piece of salmon and a handful of mushrooms. Pretty good stuff.

Tonight it will be pozole and tamales from the Valdepeñas family party. Probably, Nery and Alex (my students) will bring offerings from their tables. (I hope!) I will stay home because the family party is held on the second floor, and I don't do stairs anymore. I also don't drive after dark. (I hate being so damn old.)

What are your plans?

I'd spent the morning from 3:30 to 11:30 preparing food for our feast on Christmas Day. So, lunch was a simple affair of tuna salad on homemade buns, cucumber spears and sliced tomatoes.

Supper was a semi reprise, with an apple and sharp cheddar cheese, which has returned, at least for now, to the Morelia Costco.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy Tamalada.

A salad, pizza and pasta! (Whooaaa....carb overload.) We went out to eat today.

Tomorrow we're going to an orphan's Christmas feast and I'm staring at a MOUNTAIN of vegetables I'll be preparing for twenty people, so didn't want to mess around in the kitchen today. I already roasted the garlic on the BBQ this afternoon though and processed it into a marinade. Tomorrow will be easy-peasy. For me anyway.
