late arrival at GDL.... hotel???

My flight was cancelled this a.m. and I will get into GDL near midnight.. looking for clean affordable hotel near airport(maybe a short taxi ride???)

Across the highway and just south of the airport is the Hotel Vienna, an inexpensive but decent place to stay the night. An airport taxi can take you there. Buy your taxi ticket after you clear customs. The taxi booth is inside the terminal.

Unless you have a really, R E A L L Y early flight the next morning, like around 3 am, I can't think of a single reason to stay anywhere near the airport.

I just want to be close to pick up rental car in the morning.... don't want to be driving around GDL late at night

And there's the reason I couldn't think of! Hotel Vienna definitely looks the best based on the exterior.

this is the reason i purchase my tickets through orbitz and pay the extra 15.00 dollars or so if my flight is cancelled they will cover hotel/food/expenses.... and if too many tickets where sold by airline, you will be the last person they bump off the plane since it will cost the airlines more money if you have the travel insurance.

Hotel Casa Grande is on the airport grounds but is probably $110+

Consider, the tip about Hotel Vienna, useful.

As in. Not going into Guadalajara but places beyond, in several directions but arriving at an ungodly hour. With the need for an overnight stay. $1200 pesos vs $250?

Gets a person, musing, how many useful gifts, fun, people, another $1000 pesos can go to.
That. Trickle down equation.
