Any recommendations on hotels here. Also any info on the two butterfly sanctuaries in the area. Thinking of staying here instead of Angangueo.

We also are planing to to the butterflies from Tlal.
We didnt get a chance to last year, but when we visited the town there we scouted out hotels.
The one we are going to go with is El Mineral

The hotel's contact info is :

El Mineral, Tlalpujahua Mich.
Libertad #47, centro, C.P. 61060
TEL. 01 (711) 15 8 01 97 (Michoacán)
TEL. (55) 55534804 (DF)
Cel. (044) 55 20 83 62 34 (DF)

I did a blog post on the town with a couple of shots of the hotel.

Also worth checking out are the pyrimids to the south.

I had never heard of them untill I came across them in Tony Burtons book.

When I talked to them at the hotel they said the most convenient santuary was Chincua and they said it didnt get the same volume of traffic as Rosario.
Please give us a report after your visit!
