selling our RV in Mexico

Hi,

We have an 11 year old RV in Mexico. We have had it in the country for 1 year and it has the 10 year sticker on it. We have had an offer on it by a Mexican family and we would like to sell it. They said that they would provide all the necessary paperwork and pay the taxes.
Our questions are: 1) Is this legal and who should we contact to verify that all of the paperwork is correct?
2) Can we remove the sticker and return it to the border along with the paperwork or does the RV have to be taken to the border.

Hope someone out there has the correct info on this as we have been told many different things.

You must return to the border to turn in the permit and have the authorities remove the sticker. Do NOT remove the sticker yourself.

Once the permit is canceled, you can sell the RV. Technically, you are supposed to drive it out of the country and sell it outside México.

It is an Rv with an engine

When you imported your RV with a TEMPORARY 10 year permit you signed a paper saying the vehicle would not be sold in Mexico and that it would be removed from Mexico before the permit expired. It cannot be legally sold in Mexico. If you did and it was traced back to the original importer (YOU) there would be a big problem !
