A Neat Tlaquepaque "package" for a little getaway

While we were up at our house in Tlaquepaque this weekend we ran into a couple from Ajijic who were taking advantage of an offer of a B&B up there: they pick you up in Ajijic, or Chapala, or Joco, take you up to Tlaquepaque, welcoming coctails, a "chef's tour" dinner (which is awesome - I've tried it), breakfast and two nights room, plus they will take you to whatever thing you want to go to in Guadalajara so you don't have to drive: doctors, shopping, theater, whatever. I don't know the price but they felt it was reasonable. Check it out at www.quintadonjose.com . I think they run an ad in Ojo del Lago or Guadalajara Reporter, but I'm not sure. Oh, the name of the hotel is Quinta Don Jose.

That sounds like a nice deal. I have been looking for somewhere to go around the end of January. It is cheaper for me to fly from Maryland to Cancun, then from BWI to Tampico, can't figure that one out. I was thinking that maybe have hubby catch a plane from Tampico and meet me somewhere. This place sounds nice.

We were in tlaquepaque this week and there is a plethora of new and very nice restaurants. Friday nights there are free concerts and dance performances in the park. That particular Band B is like being far away from everything when you are inside the walls. Very nice. Cheerful staff.
