Coffee and AeroPress coffee maker

Re: coffee snobs

Off the subject a bit, but I just brought back from Canada an AeroPress coffee maker which easily fit into my suitcase. Check out www.aerobie.com for more information. I think I found out about in on the "other" board. This makes the best coffee I've ever tasted. Would be great for travelling so long as one had access to an electric kettle or microwave.

Your coffee maker seems similar to a french press.

It does look conceptually like a French press but I noticed two distinct differences... it uses a microfilter which supposedly gets rid of the 'grit' common to a French press, and it takes only 30 seconds to brew where my French press suggest 4-5 minutes minimum. While I make no claims to be a coffee connoisseur, I do have a cup each morning and, to my taste, one cannot beat a French press type maker!

Schap, does it really only take so short a time to get good coffee???

It's more than a little bit off-topic!

If anywhere, it ought to be in the Mexican Kitchen forum.
