Nagra 3 down Dish wide open

For the FTA hobbyist who do not have IKS receivers, dig out your old FTA because Nagra 3 has been down since this morning. Even PPV are up. You might go to FTA sites and see if new bins are out but supposedly FTA receivers are working without new bins. Enjoy it while you can because it won't last long.

If you told me that this was going to happen before it did, I would never have believed you. It would be really interesting to find out what happened. Thank you very much for the information.

It's raining too much here to check everything out but I think if you are a regular Dish customer, the encryption is off on PPV also. Dish customers should be able to see PPV without paying right now.

I guess Nagra 3 is back up. From what I can tell PPV is back to encrypted.

There was a server failure at one of the uplink centers for the western arc sats that de-authorized a ton of smart cards. Dish temporized by turning off encryption until the server was replaced and the smart cards reauthorized. It lasted about 12 hours. Doesn't Dish believe in redundancy, hot swapping, etc.??
