I am always amazed that people (not you--Claudia--this is a general reply) who would not cut their own hair or try to replumb their house will risk their health by going to a farmacia armed with only internet information. Go to a doctor first--self-medicating can lead to even more serious complications as well as making the offending "bugs" stronger.
Here's one example from a PV website--I know this is not the same as Claudias situation--just an example:

I arrived home with Bill at 3:30pm yesterday and Tik had filled the fridge though all food taste like chemical due to 12 new antibiotics I am on for 2 weeks to wipe out the bacterial infection called H Pylori which nearly killed me. I again express my profound thanks and appreciation to all of you dear people. Every single one lifted my spirits, except one from a local club owner, though I could read Tik's posts printups slowly time to time.
I developed this bacteria and resulted in at least one duodenal ulcer. Stupidly I ignored it all [I know, Keith!] and waited to get better. I finally emailed Bill saying my pain was bad. He took me by taxi to San Javier Hospital. That is the last I remember until after a week here when I opened my eyes and a lady asked me if I knew where I was. I said No and she said San Francisco. I said that's good because I live here. She said it was Kaiser and I was very ill. I stayed awhile in ICU, no fun no sleep no food, then moved 3 times but met a ton of fun people I would like to see under different circumstances. I ate soft and liquid food Mon., solid food Tue and Wed, home Thur.
I also appreciate posts which said let's do what Gary woud desire and discuss matter PV. I applaud you for moving on and away from my illnes. Great decision. But I wanted to post here so all know the facts and how I am. There was no alcohol, most of you know I do not drink, no street boys or beatings or robberies. Far from it. I got really sick and was eventually airlifted out of PV. Leslie took hold of my 2 older brothers who flew in immediately [one is a doctor] and Bill did stupendous work n my behalf I will never be able to repay. Tik took over the updates with my family's permission and I am forver grateful to this fine woman, too. I had her access my Yahoo and approve members and messages but I fear some of you may have sent a message and it never showed as Yahoo only keeps them 14 days. I apologize, resubmit. Many others helped as Tim, Keith and Pam at the hospital and I seriously cannot name you all all as I was unconscious for 2 weeks.
But one thing, your posts were a miracle in themselves. I had no idea I had so many people in my life, no car, no way. It continues to touch me deeply.
So let's keep me from now on in private emails. I wlll answer as I have strength but in the last 2 weeks I have come so very far even the doctors applauded me.
