The permits used to be 20 years, but are now 10 year. This permit(free) allows you to bring a trailer into Mexico and leave it in the country for 10 years. The unit cannot be sold ,rented, or used by anyone other than the permit holder. Before the expiry date it must be returned to the USA. You cannot get this permit if the unit is already in Mexico. It does not apply to motorized RV's<p>
