Mondo Cafe

Hi - does anyone know what happened to Mondo Cafe on Chapultepec in Guadalajara? I think it must have been about 5 or 6 months ago that I first noticed that it was boarded up, and there was a sign saying it was under renovation. I just drove by there today and it is still boarded up.

A couple of years ago the original owner told me he was moving back to the States. He had run into some problems when he opened another place in Plaza México plus he had divorced his Mexican wife so it was time to skidaddle.

Thanks Tio - I knew the owner, Mateo Monda, as a hard-charging businessman. Too bad he's gone. They used to serve the best cafe au lait in town.
