Where can I get the antenna I need?

I was given a very nice set of looooong range phones; the kind that you can hook into your phone line at home and go to Canada and make/receive calls. OK, I'mbeing a little extreme, but I don't know because I don't have an antenna. The system is I believe pretty old and Google doesn't help me much.

The set is a Samsung SGH-369D. The antenna is a (Yagi?) impedance 50 (ohms? looks like a headset sign); residual wave radiation, -60dB; Transmission current 1500mA Modulation frequency deviation, 5KHz (mas/minus).

Any thoughts (locally preferred).

Thanks.

It sounds like you have a line of site with some bleed-over FM two-way radio, much like the ham radios we used to use lakeside before cell phones showed up. And as long as it was line of site and there were no hills in the way that from Ajijic, for example, you could talk to perhaps SW Joco, if you could see that site from the top of the antenna.

But remember, per the web, "the antenna should be no less than 20 meters high(65 feet) if it is set up on the ground." A 200 foot high antenna would even be better.

Also remember that a yagi antenna is directional, so you will need an antenna rotator, so if you choose same.

It will be a fun toy to play with especially if you live at a high elevation, but it's not going to work unless the phone is line of site or close to line of site of your antenna.

LOS would probably work OK for me; I'm near the top of Vista del Lago and probably could get decently into Chapala and maybe even Ajijic; I actually got into chapala with a set of walkie-talkies.

My real question though is where can I find/get an antenna? I'm even willing to have it built if I can find out how or some details.

Thanks.
