Question re legality of "Renting with option to buy"

This is really a Real Estate question. For lack of a RE board, I will post my question here.Pardon me!
I and my Mexican wife are considering renting some condominiums or houses (one at the time) but with an option to buy. That way one gets a chance to check things out before buying. We are considering this also as an investment - renting, fixing, buying, selling. In the US we do many things with contracts. Does anyone has any experience here in Mexico with contracts in general and also specifically "Options to buy". Any help or information would be helpful.
I heard about a CD (in Spanish) with legal help, such as contracts etc. I assume. Does anyone know about such a thing?
