Xcalaker, I hope you get advice on dog-friendly lodging... sorry, I can't help you because we stayed in Matehuala and used the bus to get to Real de Catorce. It is a side trip that I've often recommended because of the history and scenery... and because we enjoyed our trip so much. If you haven't been to Real de Catorce yet, you may not be aware that the last 24 miles or so are all over hand-laid cobblestone roadbed. Bumpy Ride doesn't come close to describing it! While locals and those with business in RdeC do travel in their own vehicles, I wouldn't recommend taking a vehicle over that road unless you have no other choice. There are hotels in Matehuala (sorry... it's been about five years and we stayed in RV parking behind a fairly new motel on the northern outskirts of Matehuala. I can picture it, but don't recall the name) I have a web album with the photos of our trip to Real de Catorce. Go to www.skping.com and scroll down the page to find Mexico Travels. Click, then scroll down the page to find Real de Catorce. Or, follow this link: Real de Catorce And, finally, I'd like to recommend a book. The Second Milagro, by Linda Rainwater. Amazon has it here: AMAZON -- The Second Milagro Be sure you see inside the church! Lee Lee's Photos: Beyond the Guardrails
