Is San Miguel closed up for the flu?

This is a long weekend and there is nothing to do in Irapuato/Leon. Is everything still functioning in San Miguel?

Here is the latest update from SMA and the state of Guanajuato.

The Guanajuato (state) Secretary of Health has issued a statement saying that the following are to be closed:

* bars, discos, movies, theaters, museums and cantinas

* all schools at the elementary, middle school and senior high levels are closed until 6 May.

* nurseries, senior citizen centers, day care facilities and pre-school facilities

* all big social, cultural, sporting or religious events, parades, academic or political gatherings are suspended.

There has been a suggestion that churches close their religious observances and broadcast services on radio and TV.

All shops, convenience stores, grocery stores and markets have been asked to supply alcohol gel containers at the entrance for customers to wash their hands before entering.

My sister, who lives in San Miguel de Allende, reported that life goes on as normal there. But perhaps her life doesn't revolve upon schools, museums, antros, bars and nightclubs.

I was in SMA today (Cinco de Mayo) and everything looks like business as usual.
