Enquiring minds would love to know.

Mexconnect! It's easy to say, catchy, and sounds unique. Mexico Connect is too hard to say and remember. Actually, I'd almost forgotten that the site is called Mexico Connect, because I've been thinking of it as Mexconnect for so long.

(Imagine horse race commentator's breathless drone)...And they're off! It's the race we've all been waiting for between Mexico Connect and Mexconnect...
Mexico Connect has taken an early lead.... but Mexconnect is catching up...... and it's now Mexconnect in front, and racing towards the finish line...

Mexconnect – Mexico Connect or is it Mexican Connect? I believe, though not sure, but somewhere in this important kind-of murky question, I think, sometimes I’d call it Mexican Connect. Now why would I even think it to be called Mexican Connect……hmmmm

Well, as one who doesn’t live full time in Mexico, since 2005, at times I feel very much compelled to speak of NoB stuff but in having done so in the past, my reins have been pulled and at times jerked to an abrupt stop for trotting into forbidden territory.. I mean its no biggy, but done enough times, its like conditioned reflex, where one has been conditioned through and enough repetitive reminders, something akin to intravenous feeding or subliminal messaging: KEEP IT MEXICAN!!!!

Sooooo, like a naughty boy trying to redeem himself, I dutifully bow my head in submission, and guess what folks, I’m still here ……. Ho-hmmmm. And why, because I guess we’re some kind of neighbors and yes, I do enjoy the “Mexican Connection!”

David

You toss out a simple request........... but it runs deep for me.

I believe this question parallels the "structure of español" and the inter-personal culture of MX.

There is the formal "usted" and the familiar (non formal) "tu" that is in constant play when communicating with others in spanish.

For me personally, M/C has been a guiding light for many of my Mexico experiences, for the past 7 years now. I just spent 10 days in Guadalajara last month and used the info posted here on M/C by many others to shape my visit. I have met several of the regular M/C members personally over the years, but I get a sense that we are ALL connected in a shared journey of the Mexico-experience, as an extended community.

The personalities and characters on this site all seem so familiar to me.......therefore........ I vote for the "tu" form, a less formal "MexConnect" based on this view.

Thanks for making this site available to us all!
