Acid stain for concrete floor

Can't Post |
Are acid stains for cement floors available in Mexico? There is a chemical reaction with the cement that is permanent. I have used Kemiko in the US but do not know if that is available here.

Very Interesting!

I was not aware of Kemiko. After looking at the Mexican page and the US page (www.kemiko.com which has more and better pictures), I am very interested in trying it out. It may be a good, cost saving, substitute for tile. It would certainly spruce up the stairs and sidewalk for my project.
I would be very interested in hearing from others who have used Kemiko, especially any comments on the down side of the product.

It's the Mexican Kemiko web site that has the more and better pictures. The US web site has a how-to video for sale.

: : This one has lots of tips
: : http://www.concretenetwork.com/concrete/acid_etch_staining/index.html
Thanks for the Mexico site. I have used this around pools, in a 27,000 sq ft. road machinery company, on my patio. I first saw it in a Kittinger Furniture Co. showroom in Dallas. They had used the brown stain with a black wax and it looked like tortoise shell. It is very durable and if damaged - easy to repair. It bubbles like effervescence liquid when you apply it. I have finished saltillo and brick with used crankcase oil, let it soak up as much as possible in a 24 hour period, cleaned with petrol or naptha and put Johnson's glo coat on. You can put colored polvo (dust) in the glo coat but not necessary unless you are going for some special effect. I wonder if the kemiko will work on mosaicos. The marble dust might effect it . I'll tell you the results later on!!

Kemiko Mexico

Thank you for the compliment!! Any feedback to improve the website will be very welcome.
We are the Kemiko distributors in Mexico, and just wanted to let you know we can ship materials nationwide (from Monterrey), and we have certified installers in other parts of the country, for those of you who need the service (it will still be cheaper than tile).
The application instructions and other literature is available in spanish, in order to make it easier for your constructor/architect/helper. The mexican/spanish video is on its way and should be ready in a couple of months.
Regards,
