Hello to all! Me and a friend are planning a trip to Playa at the end of Jan. 2009. I know that is only a month away! We are looking for a condo style rental for 2 adults. We both prefer beach front property but not an absolute. We do want something near to the beach and the 5th Ave area so we can just walk to everything. We also plan on taking the ferry over to Cozumel.

We are looking for a good value for the money, not interested in an all inclusive. Thanks in advance for helpful hints - especially from the locals!!

There are a lot of condos for rent in Playa del Carmen and the surrounding area. Googling "playa del carmen condo rentals" will get you a lot of reading material.

Thanks Jim. Yes we have been doing that for several days and are almost overwhelmed :) I guess I am hoping I can get some inside info from someone that might live in the area and knows of that "diamond" (cheaper and just as nice)!

Okay

I wrote Heather and told her you might be in touch. I suggest sending her a note via their website. Just looking at all the places available there can be a little overwhelming. Let her know what you want (size, beachfront or not, etc..) and she can help narrow it down for you.
