Hi i ate tacos de asuadero in TJ and then told my Mexican boyfriend about it. I asked what they were made of and he said, 'you don't wanna know!'. Will somone please honestly tell me what that is? Thanks, I think!

I think the word is actually "asadero", meaning grilled.

As with "carne asada", "asar" means "to grill" like hamburgers and such.

So both the grill itself and the guy who cooks on it are "asadero".

And they could be right about the contents of the tacos. :-)

Apparently there is an asuadero. I Googled the word and got several hits, none of which defined the word.

Gosh, you guys! We all eat things way more revolting than suadero. Menudo, for example, or buche!

Suadero is the layer of fat that is found just under the skin of beef cattle. It has very fine layers of meat attached. Suadero is highly appreciated and is used to make...tacos de suadero, of course.

Thanks you guys i knew you would help i concur with and was aware of what everyone wrote except Esperanza solved the mystery. So i did not eat anything gross. My boyfriend is a brat! Once after crossing back to TJ from a several hour trip on foot to el otro lado, I was starving and exhausted. On TJ side they were selling SCRUMPTIOUS tacos del borego. My boyfriend and i are are both insanely squeamish about 'weird' meat so i had to try one before buying more and also bought carne asada ones. After dinner, my horns popped out and i confessed I'd made him eat lamb, heh heh! Then HIS horns popped out and he said he had only eaten the carne asada ones and said, “baby, there IS no borrego in TJ! have you ever seen one? You ate kitty or doggie tacos!". He delighted in telling all his TJ friends about it and they all agreed they had never eaten or seen borrego there. Keep in mind they were are all very poor and unsophisticated so maybe they just did not know. He lives there too.
