"Trailer trash"

OK, here's a high-level really important question.
What would the Mexican equvilent be of calling someone "trailer trash"?
And no offense meant to those who live in trailers. I know, mess with you, mess with the whole trailer park. :)

Hello sioux4noff

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For other uses, see naco.

Naco (fmn. naca) is a pejorative word often used in Mexican Spanish to describe bad-mannered and poorly educated people. Recently, however, the word has been reclaimed by Mexican hipsters, particularly in Mexico City and in other places where the word has been popularized in fashions. A naco is usually associated with lower socio-economic classes, but could also sometimes include the nouveau-riche.

From a year ago on Yahoo answers:

"My sister uses that word all the time. It means ghetto or low class. People use it to describe someone beneath them."

Some other alternatives that--I won't say that I use them--but I hear used often.

chúntaro, ranchero (pajón)--since trailers are usually in rural or semi-rural areas and the people who live in them are stereotypically ignorant.

chusma--always a good insult for anyone you feel to be below you in some way. For examples of this word in action, watch a couple episodes of El Chavo del Ocho.

There are other words, but they might be too crude to mention here.

Yeah, ranchero and pajon work for the "hick" concept.

One you hear WAY out in Sinaloa is "iguanero" meaning people who eat iguanas in summer because they are like "rained" in.

A similar one I'd suggest is "nopalero", meaning people who eat the disgusting nopales. You go out in the country and people have fences of nopal.

Trouble with "naco" is it really has an image more like "disco duck" or something. Like the guy with all the necklaces and wild shirt on the cover of the book "El Naco y Como Criticarlo"

For some insights into the "naco" term, take a look at this blog entry on the MEXICAN SLANG 101 page:
