Google as a guide to usage

I was writing a letter in Spanish, and had two possible phrases in mind, but was unclear if both represented good usage. I typed in both phrases, and the first phrase was essentially not found, while the second phrase was found repeatedly. I did not put the phrases in quotation marks originally, but I tried it again with quotation marks, and the results were even more clear.

I did it again to resolve a capitalization question, but the results were not as clear, perhaps because capitalization is more subjective, or perhaps people are just inconsistent.

Obviously Google is not in this case providing good usage or best usage, but does help define common usage. It also lets you see the word or phrase in various sentences and contexts.

I am sure that this is not new to most of you, but I think that it is a good tip, and should be helpful to some.
