Hello normamc288,

If you mean La Pesca in Tamulipas State then please read this:

http://www.biznews.com.mx/...c=30&id_art=1957

Now to help you with your problem, go to any of the six hotels in La Pesca, find somebody who speaks English and tell them your problem and ask for suggestions on how to find a home for rent. You might also check with the Tourism office. There must be one somewhere in town if the July 2007 article referenced above has had any basis in actual developments there in La Pesca.

And there in La Pesca which is so close to the frontier you should be able to find Taxi drivers who speak English and who for a small finder's fee with tell you about and take you out to see houses for rent.

You might also try this URL which offers to help you find a place to rent. Obviously a real estate contact who will probably try to steer you to an expensive location but maybe worth a try.

I wish you luck.

Thanks so much for all the info you sent. I arrived on the bus to La Pesca and just got down. Asked at a tienda for rental place, looked at a few "rooms" for rent, no....came to this wonderful hotel, Rivera del Rio and got a room for $40. and it is on the river. Asked about rental property and the owner showed me a house the next day. Very nice. On the river, 2br, 2ba, privacy wall and gate and landscaped. He wants $600. which is more than I wanted to pay but it is so perfect and I love this little village so took it. Took the bus to Texas, packed "stuff" and got my car and arrived here today. I was laughing when I got here, so typical "manana" my house is not ready but they are letting me stay in the hotel for free till all cleaned and mowed. He is also buying me a new refrigerator. I am also about a mile from the ocean which is an added bonus.
Again, thanks so very much for your input. I appreciate you, Norma
