The Government, in the shape of Fonatur, has announced it is going to invest a chunk of change in a new resort, south of Mazatlan, that will be twice as large as Cancun and have 7 miles of beaches. The location is Esquinapa, the town we've always thought of as the mango packing capital of the country.

This development has been in the works for awhile. The land where it will be built is on the ranch of a previous governor of the Sinaloa, Antonio Toledo Corro. Here's some background info on that guy;

I'd sure like to read the article you refer to, but I don't have Windows, so I can't open the doc which comes up in Word. Can you make it into a PDF, por favor?

Jetski - is the word document in your post your original writing? If not, it requires clear attribution to its original source, please, preferably with a live link to the original article (assuming it was published on-line). Thanks, Tony

A pdf of an article written by J. Michael Waller, apparently based on that document (which seems to have been written originally by Fredo Arias-King), is available at http://www.ariasking.com/files/Insight1.pdf

Just want to point out. That the links on this thread, contain political information.
Dated back some years.

Not that the background information is not relevant to 2009.

However political/economic realities have a way of moving on.

And this is an election year in Mexico. On whatever side of a political equation, you sit.
