Food miles - translation??

Help needed, please - how would you translate "food miles" into Spanish?
The definition reads as follows:
"Una medida de la distancia que recorren los alimentos desde su origen hasta el consumidor. Se puede proporcionar en unidades de distancia real o en la energía consumida durante el transporte", but I'm at a loss as to how the term itself is normally translated (if at all) into Spanish.
Suggestions?

NB "Millas de alimentos" exists on various websites, but is there a more Spanish-based translation that anyone has heard of such as "kilometraje de alimentos" ??

Millas alimenticias or millas de alimentos. The second one is more common.

Ha-Ha; nice one! Because the translation is going to appear as a parallel document to the English version, I've gone with "millas de alimentos". Thanks, everyone, for your help - keep up the great work! Tony
