I think the closest equivalent would be: You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.<p>No te fijes....
Probably several usages, but here's what I know: Two friends have plans to do something and suddenly one bows out at the last minute. The one that bowed out might say: no te fijes (en ese detalle).
