Safe Preparation of Berros (Watercress)?

Can't Post | Private Reply
Other than the usual washing and disinfecting of berros (fresh watercress, to be eaten raw, in salad, for example), is there any danger of parasites?

If so, how can they be dealt with so the watercress is safe to eat? http://tinyurl.com/6jap3l

I frequently buy fresh watercress at my neighborhood tianguis. A huge bunch of it, as big as your head, is about 5 pesos.

I wash it and soak it in Microdyn. I can't think of anything else to do to it.

I either make a salad, stir fry it, use it in a Chinese dish I make, or turn it into soup. The bunch that's in the refrigerator right now is going to be soup for today's comida.

Gracias, Esperanza, for a reply that gives me confidence. And just in time for lunch. :-)
Sandwiches de berros y jitomates al aiolí.

EDIT: The sandwiches were delicious. Now I'm inspired to make a Crema Fría de Berros, and I've found a suitable recipe on the Internet.
