wireless service in Guadalajara?

Can't Post | Private Reply
I am coming to Guadalajara for 2 weeks starting June 15 and wanted to bring my laptop - is there a wireless service I should sign up for NOW or better yet - what are the correct procedures to get a short term wireless contract so I can use my laptop while in Mexico?
Many thanks. Yes, I know that I can ge Boingo in 25 locations, but I was not too happy to wander all over town to find the hotspots. I am staying at a B&B
Paseo de la Arboleda #943
Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico C. P. 45050
but have no idea where that is nor what it is close to. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

TIA

I was hoping someone else perhaps living in Guadalajara could help you. To the best of my knowledge, short of hot spots, and fixed WiFi there is no good solution. I guess I would come on down and once in Guadalajara, check what is available.

What is fixed WiFi? It's where a very weak wifi signal is picked up with a very large antenna mounted on your roof which then is connected via cable to a bridge followed by perhaps a router.

As I recollect Rolly posted a URL showing the hot spots in Guadalajara. There is such a list. A quick check on Google didn't get me anywhere but it's out there.

Pete - you got me to go and look at Rolly's site - here is what I found for Guadalajara:

The information came from this page on Rolly's site:

Thanks neighbor. Remember, that there are more hot spots out there than are listed.
