Can't Post |
Many years ago I had a roommate in highschool who was from France but was living in Mexico. In his failing attempt to teach me spanish he used a little toung twister about a "Train", a fast train, to practice rolling the rrrrs. Does anyone know this twister. He also had one for French about a "Pointed hat.
Please e-mail at sireallan@earthlink.net Thanks

When I worked in Spain, my Spanish coworkers taught me this one: <html><i>El perro de San Roque no tiene rabo porque Ramón Ramirez se lo ha cortado.</i></html> They loved watching me try to say this. To this day, I have trouble trilling my rr's. It seems to get easier after a little of what P.J. O'Rourke called "liquid Berlitz."<p>

Hi! Al,

What I remember (from too many years ago to count) is:

"RR de RR cigarro, RR de RR barril, rapido corren los carros del ferrocarril."

For the the single (and less trilled) R, we used:

"Tres tristes tigres trajeron trigo en tres tristes trastes."

Thanks for stretching my memory and sending me on a trip down memory lane.
