I can't find a meaning for these words, ESRAÑO - ESTRAÑO(please excuse the capitals that's the way it was written to me) . Is one a misspelling of the other or are they both spelled incorrectly and what might they mean? Thanks for any help.

Pardon my lack of a tilde ... I never have the directions when I need them. "Extrano" as a verb means to miss someone because they are away: Te extrano mucho. As an adjective it means strange, unusual: Ese nino es un poco extrano.<p>: I can't find a meaning for these words, ESRAÑO - ESTRAÑO(please excuse the capitals that's the way it was written to me) . If my thinking is correct the word ESTRANO means the Sky...as in where the stars are. I've only been studying Spanish for the past year, and my boyfriend is from Mexico. Hopefully this helps.

Here's how it works:

Extrañar: to miss, to find strange. A verb.

El niño extraña mucho a su mamá. The boy misses his mother a lot.
Cuando vas de viaje, te extraño. When you go on a trip, I miss you.
Esto me extraña. I find that strange.

Extraño: odd, strange, weird. An adjective.

El vestido se te ve extraño. The dress looks strange on you.
Qué historia más extraña! What an odd story!
Esto se me hace muy extraño.
This seems very weird to me.

So it does depend on the context.

And it's definitely not the sky, although today el cielo se ve un poco extraño, con muchas nubes, y extraño el sol.
the sky looks a little strange, with many clouds, and I miss the sun.
