MexConnect Viewing

Can't Post | Private Reply
I've noticed that friends who read and post on MexConnect are able to see members' picture icons on their posts and have a set of tools different from mine at the top of the "Post New Message" or "Reply" screens.

My version of MexConnect shows no members' picture icons unless I click on other members' profiles.

The tool bar I see across the top of the "Post New Message" and "Reply" screens has the following:
Undo, redo, bold, italic, underline, quote, Re:, <C>, left, center, and right margin choices, numbered or bullet lists, indentation, font face, font color, horizontal rule, insert picture, and insert link. There's no choice for private reply.

So how do I get the fancy version that my friends have? I'm envious...

Have you tried going to "Edit Profile" then to "Display Settings" and make some adjustments there to your display settings?

As long as your helping Don, I need some help too. It's about 40 F out and the wind is blowing like mad up here. You've got connections, you used to work at the Seattle Times, do you think you could get someone to improve the weather (smile) or had I better come back to God's country.

Just in case you can't change things, I'm flying back in a couple of days anyway. And by the way, I may be moderator here Esperanza, but I didn't know the answer to your question. I'm glad you did Don. Happy New Year all, say I for the umpteenth time

It would be helpful if you could tell me what adjustments I should make. Nothing I could change seems to apply to my situation.

Sorry Pete, can't help you. I am in the S.F. Bay Area with the same bad weather. Won't return to Mexico until Monday.

Esperanza:
Not sure what adjustments to make. That just looked like the place to adjust the display. There is a place there to put yes or no to display user icons and you say other user icons are not diplayed.

On the "Display Settings" page, 9th item, "Show other users' icons": try selecting "Yes" in the menu.

6th item, "Post writer/editor": try changing from Basic Editor to Advanced Editor (or vice versa) and see if that helps. It's hard to know what to tell you to adjust, because we don't know how your settings are now.

The settings that seem to be pertinent--show other users' icons, advanced editor, etc--are already checked. Nothing, for example, on my settings is different from the settings on my partner's computer.

It just seems that I have an older version of MexConnect and I don't know how to figure out what to do to get an updated version, if in fact that's the problem.

Mex Connect are just web pages and have no bearing on your problem. in your browser tools> internet options, check your security, privacy and content settings. Something in there is probably set at too high a level. Check them against your partners settings.
Getting older and still not down here.
