Bus to Melaque and then to airport

I live in Ajijic and will be visiting Melaque for a week with my daughter. She will be flying into the Manzanillo airport. My plan is to bus to Melaque from lakeside the night before and hopefully take a "chicken bus" to and from the airport. We were able to do this when staying in Sayulita and flying in from the PV airport.

Has anyone bussed from Melaque to the Lakeside area? I'm thinking that a bus would run between Melaque and Jocotopec, thus saving me from going to Guad.

I know I COULD take a taxi to and from Melaque and the airport, but I'd rather spend that money on other fun things... Is there a local bus that runs between the airport and Melaque?

Any info about the town would be appreciated, too! We are staying between Dec 15th-22nd.

Try this forum, which has a specific board for Barra de Navidad/Melaque - they could answer your questions re bus to the airport in Manzanillo.

When I've flown into the Manzanillo airport a number of times, no buses came to the airport only taxis.

The buses ran along the highway towards Manzanillo or Melaque but you still had to reach the highway by taxi.
